Haden is having growing pains ?

When I got home from an appointment yesterday I checked caller ID and saw public schools on it. This means Zack or Haden is trying to call. I listened to my messages and Haden had left me a message saying "Hi mom this is Haden will you come and get me because..........". I couldn't understand the because. I went up to his school and walked up to the window and asked if Haden had been here to use the phone and if he was ok. The secretary started to laugh and said that he had been there to use the phone and had told them that he thought he had growing pains. I walked towards his class room and passed the lunch room and saw him in there playing. He ran over to me and told me that his leg was hurting every time he sat at the rug. I just laughed at him and asked him if he thought they were from growing and he said he was sure that this was the problem. We walked to his class to talk to his teacher. I walked in and told her that I was taking Haden home and she started to laugh and she said yes I think that he is growing. I looked at Haden and was laughing and I told him that I was sure that it was growing pains. He looked at me and his teacher and said "I am just kidding I just want to go home and see my new puppy". Out of all the years that I have had children in school I have never heard this excuse!! It was a good one because I did take him home.
