A couple of weeks ago I was able to tag along with these awesome people! This was my first subway hike and I did not get the memo to make sure to trim your toe nails! Ha, but most of my toe nails survived it. It was so beautiful! It was also quite the adventure! About thirty minutes into the hike we could hear people down the canyon. As we got closer to them we could hear that they were calling for help. These four people had started out the day before and had got stuck on a ledge! They had been there for over twenty four hours. It was good to be with people that knew what they were doing and were prepared so that they could get them down.
I felt so bad for them. They had hypothermia and they were all a little shook up. And they had six more hours to hike out of the subway.
So pretty.
I also was told that there would be no rappelling! I do not like heights! Well this is rappelling to me! Haha I'm up there watching everyone and I am having a little anxiety attack! It looks a lot bigger from the top!
After about six hours of wet and sandy hiking downhill my feet were killing me! I had tons of sand in my socks! I was so happy to have the uphill climb out!
