We travelled to Goleta, California this week to see my Grandma Jones. We were lucky to have five generations in the same room. As we were driving down I was asking my mom questions about my Grandpa and Grandma Jones. They have never lived close to our family so I didn't get to be around them enough to hear their stories. I did get a few from my mom and aunts this week. My Grandma Barabara Jones was raised during the great depression and during this time her father passed away. So her mother with three young children had to survive the depression single. I know that they struggled greatly and were extremely poor. To this day my Grandma will not waste anything and is very very frugal. I would say even more frugal than the dutchman if that is possible. These are things that I want my children to know and appreciate the struggles their family before them went through. I want them to know that everything that my grandparents had was through living simple and working hard. Both of my grandparents' parents were German immigrants and I am sure that this was also hard for them. I have a lot of history to dig in to. While we were there Hayley snapped some photos and a five generation one. They are going to be priceless photos. You can almost see the communication between her and Cruz. I would have to say that they are both probably closest to the veil.
Brings a tear to my eyes.
Cruz loved Grandma. He kept touching her hand and talking to her.
Grandma also loved Cruz.
Priceless photo.
She couldn't keep her eyes off of little Cruz. I can't blame her. He is a sweetheart.
One of these hands is not like the other!!! :0
