Chase received his call on thursday. What an exciting day. We did the map on the wall where everyone takes a guess at where they think Chase's call will be. No one guessed. I think it took a couple of minutes for all of us to let Korea! sink in. To be honest I had told Brian Akins and Mitch Cloward on sunday that I didn't care where Chase was called as long as it was not in Korea. Brian was shocked that I would say that. He served his mission in Korea and loved it. So yes I did get a call from Brian as soon as he heard.(My friends were joking that his call was probably to somewhere else and when I said that it magically changed to Seoul, South Korea) Brian was also very excited. He can now help Chase out. Chase is so excited! I think he was surprised also. We were in Provo over the weekend and we bought all of his missionary clothes. Everyone we would run into had a friend, brother or had served in South Korea and had awesome stories to tell about the people and country. It is amazing how the spirit works. I have never had anything feel so right. Another interesting thing. My first cousin was adopted from Seoul, South Korea. As I type this I kindof get tears. It will be very different with Chase not around. He truly is the most amazing person. I also get to see him alot in between his college classes and work. So, yes there will be a big empty spot here at our home. But I have to say that missionary families are truly blessed. I have never felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost so strongly than I have in the past six months. It makes you know that this is what Chase should be doing and sustains you through the times when you let yourself think of your son half way across the Earth!

:( I'll miss him too!! It will go by so quickly though. He'll be home right after i'm done with my master's program!! That will go by fast :) Then instead of him annoying you in spanish... he'll be able to spout of to you in Korean! Oh the good times to come :)
I'm so excited for Chase!!!! In my opinion, going to an Asian country on a mission is the experience of a lifetime. He is going to love it and will be an awesome missionary! I'm bummed we won't get to see him before he leaves though.
Its true, the spirt was so strong on Thursday night when he was opening up his calling! I am so proud of him for going on a mission:) He is such a awesome example for all the little cousins running around. He will truly be missed but for a great reason(who will dust the fans?). We Love Chase!
