Chase's buyers remorse.
In my last post about Chase and how he has all of the characteristics of the scout law, in parenthesis next to thrifty I wrote that he is a dutchman! This reminded me of a funny story about Chase that I have to blog so that we will always remember it. When Chase was eight years old he mowed Grandma and Grandpa Frei's lawn every Saturday. He would make five dollars a week doing this. The razor scooters had just came out. They were the big thing that everybody was buying. I think that they cost about $85.00. Chase asked me if I would buy him one and I told him that I would not because then I would have to buy everyone else one. I told him if he wanted one that he would have to save his money and buy it. Chase would save his five dollars every week and he finally had about $100.00. We went over to Ben Franklin and he bought the scooter. We made it out to the car and he burst into tears. He could not quit crying. I asked him what was the matter and he said "It will take me two summers to make that much money again!" He decided right there that he had to take it back. He had worked to hard to just let all of his money go on one scooter. So we went right back in to Ben Franklin and returned the scooter. Chase saved his money. I think that Chase still has all of that money in savings. He just feels better when all of his money is in the bank. He eventually got the scooter for Christmas. You gotta love him!!
